Karyn Booth is a freelance Food stylist, Home Economist and Cookery Writer. Her work mainly involves creating food for film, television commercials, magazines and food packaging. She is passionate about making food look appetizing and delicious.
Karyn is best known for her work on Game Of Thrones. She was the Home Economist for four years and her biggest challenge was to create an edible Stallions heart for Danaerys in Season 1.
Other film work includes High Rise, Dracula Untold, Your Highness, Shooting for Socrates and The Wiper Times.
Karyn qualified as a chef from The College of Business Studies in Belfast. She developed an eye for detail while working as a pastry chef in The Ritz Hotel London where only the highest standards are accepted.
Her passion, creative flair and ability to work under pressure led her to Roscoff where she enjoyed four years working with Paul Rankin and his team.
A decision to return to London was prompted by a job offer at The House of Albert Roux, and then followed by a year at Sir Terence Conran’s restaurant Sartoria.
Finally she spent 2 years working with London’s leading party caterer before returning to Belfast, clients included Mick Jagger, Lord Linley, The Spice girls and Elton John.
Karyn’s knowledge of Food science and technology was gained at Loughry Campus. She has worked with many local food companies developing new products for market. She can advise on presentation ideas and serving suggestions helping manufacturers add value to their existing products.
She has written recipes for Sainsbury’s, Lidl, Livestock and Meat Commission and many others, including a book for Forest Feast.
Karyn enjoys teaching people to cook and having fun while doing so.
